3) LA Business Journal CFO Awards
Though this is closed for nominations right now, make sure to get updates for The 17th annual Los Angeles Business Journal CFO Awards next year (this year’s awards took place on September 21, 2023). This annual CFO Awards event honors finance professionals in the Los Angeles region specifically for their ongoing efforts as outstanding financial stewards.
One of last year’s winners was Steve Presley, CFO of Nestle. The Journal wrote: "He sees issues and opportunities from both the financial and the commercial points of view, which leads to stronger decisions and a successful approach to Nestlé USA’s business overall."

4) Controller of the Year
The annual Controller of the Year Awards program, from the Controller’s Council, recognizes results produced by Controllers and related roles/titles (CFOs, Chief Accounting Officers, Comptrollers, VP Accounting).
Each year, winners are determined via a “screening algorithm”, and a panel of blue-chip judges select a “Winner” and “Runner-Up” for each of 7 categories. Nominations for the 2023 Controller of the Year Awards will open October 1, 2023.
The 2023 Controller of the Year Awards extended entry deadline is December 31, 2023. Winners will be notified via email, and announced publicly by January 15, 2024.
