Despite Fraud Allegations, GE takes on New CFO

GE taps Carolina Dybeck Happe, former CFO of Danish shipping giant A.P. Moller - Maersk, as new head of finance. She'll take Jamie Miller’s place in early 2020.

In the company’s press statement, GE CEO Lawrence Culp stated that:

“Carolina is a proven global CFO with a superior track record of delivering results and creating value…she is a high-impact executive who brings a compelling blend of strategic and capital allocation discipline, well-honed operating skills, and transformational leadership abilities.”

The new hire comes amidst tough times for GE

In early August the conglomerate saw stocks plunging after a whistleblower accused it of misleading investors. It was claimed that the organization had engaged in accounting fraud of an astounding $38 billion.

The published report alleged GE is committing fraud "bigger than Enron and WorldCom combined," and warned that the company is "on the verge of insolvency."
